CNA license and Certifications: How Do They Work?

Every state has a nursing board that is in charge of conducting the certification test and holds the right to certify you.

For practical classes however you might have to attend classes through an institute or nursing home. You must make sure that the institute or nursing home follows the guidelines set by the nursing board. Your certification test to become a nursing assistant consists of two parts which is the written part and practical part. The written part will consist of questions that are based on basics in patient handling and test your knowledge on how to handle patients in hospitals or nursing homes. Your practical part would require you to showcase your skills in front of a certified instructor. You might have to bring your own patient and demonstrate how to help the patient move, sit, stand, or bend.

You must also know how to record patient’s blood pressure, pulse rates and use protective equipments correctly. In case you have failed your certification test, you have three attempts to clear it. Supposing you can’t clear the exam in all three attempts then you must take the refresher course again.

      It is easy if you are able to get a good training provider that can further help you with training. this training has to have both hands on and theory classes. It can go on for 6-12 weeks. After this, you might have to appear for the certification exam to get certified
