This will be one of the hardest things you will ever do, but the pay-off is amazing! You just have to convince yourself that you WILL make it through CNA training no matter what comes your way! Tell yourself that all of the hard work is going to be easier once you get the hang of things, and that this is the career made just for you.

Hey, sometimes it takes a little “self-pepping” to keep the “mojo” flowing. You have to figure out how to discipline yourself, yet give yourself the drive and encouragement needed to succeed. There are tactics out there for everybody, but it takes a little experimentation to find what works for you. Don’t fret, you’ll find your “groove” eventually.

Learning Lots

In class you will learn so much information that you might feel buried under medical conditions, medical terminology, and blue scrubs with laughing “smiley-faces”-all of which are driving you bananas. But, keep on keeping on. That’s really the best thing you can do for yourself. If it is your desire, getting a nursing assistant license, then you know you have to win at all costs.

In class, you will learn about diseases and conditions, aging, bathing, residents’ rights, and dying. You will need to review chapters, look ahead, and maybe even look up meanings in a dictionary, but it’s all a part of learning. In order to be the best CNA you can be, you have to take your classroom instruction seriously.

Clinical training? Well, if you can’t make it through the classroom training, you won’t have to worry about the demands of combining classroom training with the physical aspects of getting a nursing assistant license. Consider that the clinical training is a reward one gets after performing flawlessly during the daunting tasks involved with class instruction.

If all goes well, you should have no problems. Just remember that you are here for a reason, and that reason is to be a CNA! You have the potential to change so many lives, including your own. Work hard, try hard, and you will be on your way to getting a nursing assistant license in no time!
