There are several CNA Training MO programs approved by the State of Missouri. It was federally made compulsory when the Congress passed the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1987 that all the states should approve their own certified nursing assistantscertification programs and they should further maintain a registry of those nurse aides who are legally certified to practice in long-term care facilities.

Several CNA training MO programs in Missouri are approved by the Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS).

CNA Training Missouri: Certification Requirements

The below mentioned criteria should be fulfilled by the students who are interested in working legally as a nurse aide in long-term care facilities and nursing homes:

• Complete a state-approved CNA MO certification program
• Clear a state-administered CNA competency examination
• Pass a criminal history background check

The CNA Training Missouri program can be waived off for those who have either been licensed as a nurse or have completed an academic nursing degree program and they can take the CNA challenge. By taking the CNA Challenge, the certified nursing assistant can take the state exam without undergoing the required Missouri CNA training program.

• Classroom training of 75 hours
• 100 hours of hands-on clinical training
• Training by a licensed nurse
